Fettucine lunch outing!

i’m not used to curbing my buying impulse. that i am a shopaholic, is something i find hard to admit, but is probably true enough that i have to face it. i feel really disturbed when i see something i want, but forcibly stopped myself from purchasing it right there and then. for instance, i saw a vintage brown bag going for $27 today at the flea market at Scape. it is being sold for more online and in stores. but i didn’t get it. there were also a few tops which caught my eye, like this yellow top with white braided straps. i love its print, but it was sheer. and this white t-shirt dress with black tie-dye patterns which you have to belt, going for only $15, which is much cheaper than what you have to fork out for online. ): speaking of online shopping, some recent collections i like include lollyrouge’s (the floral canvas dress, and lolliepopbestie’s (items 21 and 27). in any case, flea markets are fun. i think i might start going to more of them. (:

i only had a chance to pop by one today, because we had a Spectrum TV meeting this morning at the Scape youth park. it was a fairly productive general meeting. i have a better rough idea what Spectrum’s about. however, we’re getting down to the tough stuff fast. we just had a video camera workshop past Thursday. but the deadline for our current assignment is super tight; it’s due coming Friday morning, to be in time for the next episode. i’ve paired up to work with Jess on the news stories we have to pursue regularly. Jinhe is in our team too. our assignment for this week, is covering an event on Tuesday evening: President Nathan would be on campus to confer an honorary degree on the ex-President of India. we kind of volunteered to cover it. uhhh why? XD … i’m a little freaked, because none of us have much experience with broadcast journalism/television production. and i’m rusty when it comes to editing with Final Cut Pro. i barely remember stuff i picked up in 206. ): zomg, trying not to panic. thank god each team will have a senior as a mentor.

anyway, a bunch of us had plans for a Fettucine (our own illegitimately-formed Year 2s-only orientation group from our school’s freshmen camp this year) gathering after the Spectrum meeting today! (: Yiling and Wing Han couldn’t make it, but the rest of us could. yay. we went to Pastamania for lunch and all of us ordered fettucine for our pasta! XD i think most of them don’t like it though because it’s so thick. snickers, imagine that. it’s been so long since i ate at Pastamania, but i went for my old favorite, the Tuna & Bacon. (: pity it wasn’t as good as before, and much less spicy. we took photos! i’m really happy we could all get together outside of school. Fettucine really started out between Jin, Jinhe, Huimin and i during FOC. but we started accepting honorary members – Siti, Zi Jie, Wing Han, Yiling, Bernie, and i can’t imagine the Fettus without them. (: Jess joined us for lunch today too, so i guess she’s kind of one of us now. XD

we went shopping for a couple of hours after lunch. bumped into a few folks from our school, including some leftover people from the Spectrum meeting. a couple of them mentioned going to watch the Japanese film, Murder of the Inugami Clan! which i remember Mint mentioning to me on Monday while we were traveling home from Ikea. i wonder if she’s already gone to watch it. it’s apparently vintage Kindaichi, and a remake of the 1976 film by the same director. O_o lol.

my entire week has been so occupied. i wouldn’t say i barely had time to breathe, but at times, i just find thinking, ‘whoa, slow down’. my sleeping habits have been disastrous as usual. i try to sleep early, but usually i like to wind down before hitting the sheets. so i’ll read a  little, but that’ll mean sleeping at midnight, which is late in my books. and lately, i always wake up half an hour earlier than the time my alarm clock is scheduled to go off. what’s with that?

Dad bought the DVDs for season four of Grey’s Anatomy (whose cast is apparently being converted to veganism by Sandra Oh). tempted to watch, but i’m hoping to read some stuff before going to my grandparents’ place this evening. my grandma is cooking! she said she’s preparing shark’s fin soup. ): oh no. i only like the chicken and egg bits, and not the fins.
