outside it’s summer

Thursday

i still haven’t gotten my hands on my caramel corn! on Thursday evening, i went to Daiso at Plaza Singapura where there used to be shelves upon shelves of it. but now, i suspect they no longer stock it. the last couple of times i saw my caramel corn: they’re selling it at $2.50 at the OG department store, and $2.65 at the 7/11 at Simpang. so maybe selling it at $2 is not cost-effective for Daiso. ):

and that’s how i ended up getting t-shirts on sale from Cotton On instead that day. i have one in rose red, and another white one with black zig-zag stripes across it. (: Cotton On is having their regular big sale. thank god i didn’t buy that red dress i wanted: they’re selling it at half-price now! except they don’t seem to have it in red anymore. still, i don’t mind getting the dress in black. i actually wanted to get this white guy shirt also, but it was like $20, so i hesitated.

Friday

i watched Fever Pitch over brunch yesterday and it was a much longer movie than i expected. so i had to rush a little to get to town in time, for my karaoke date with my college mates. oh, i love that song the audience sang along to in the middle of the movie, during one of the Red Sox matches. xD;

i had a great time with Jin, Adeline and Thad at KBox! we went to the Marina Square one, which rooms layout is truly like a maze. we paid $14.50 each inclusive of extra charges, which is pretty cheap, considering we got three small bowls of mixed crackers/nuts and chips (non-refillable, sadly); a choice of nuggets/fries/mushrooms balls (Adeline says the Kallang one has more choice e.g. takoyaki!) and a standard drink (refillable if you order coke/sprite, i believe). most of us had honey lemon, which is honestly not worth it.

it’s really odd how people with vastly different tastes in music can have fun together. Thad and i tried to do ‘Always Be My Baby’ David Cook-style (who just placed 11 titles onto Billboard’s singles charts), but failed because the music video was Mariah Carey and we kept getting distracted by the tempo. Adeline, Jin and i did Zhang Zheng Yue songs after Thad left early to pick up his car! xD; i really do hope we plan more outings, be it if it’s after freshmen camp in early July. (:

and the three of them were also really sweet to get me a chocolate cake for my birthday in advance. the best bit of the day and i was awfully touched. (: i have photos! which i shall upload when i get down to it, lol.

bumped into Germaine and Kong at the mall on my way to get bread for my sister after dinner. it was nice seeing them since it’s been a while. also met James by chance on my way back to my Dad’s car. i was in a hurry both times, so was a bit too harried to stop and talk much. sorry guys. x/

Saturday

went out to AMK with Dad for brunch earlier today (yay pork cutlet hor fun). they have a pasar malam there too, so we went to check out everything from Sesame Street plushies to cars to potted plants. Dad bought me popcorn! and we ate mint chocolate chip ice-cream which tasted real good.

the size of the pasar malam wasn’t that big however, nor did they have great potted plants. decent, but not great. so we drove back to the one near our place. where we bought a pot of flowering yellow hibiscus plant and finally, our very own jasmine plant. anyway, we’re going to change pots, fertilize and everything tomorrow. (: gardening is my new passion! … seriously.

when we got home, i caught the later half of New York Minute which was showing on television. Jared Padalecki acts in the comedy with the Olsen twins and Riley Smith. i went, “Dad, that’s the Supernatural guy!” and he was like, “No–?!” xD; i didn’t know he was that guy in Gilmore Girls too; no wonder he looks doubly familiar. then i re-watched bits of The Painted Veil, which always make me feel sad.

i’m going to finish clearing my emails and blogging in a moment. then i shall dump Patapon in my PSP today (at last!) and possibly remove some bad games from my DS Lite. hur hur! (:
