vegetable gyoza and hot fudge sundae

yesterday i went back to school to help out with the packing of alumni newsletters with about 10 others. can i just say how empty the school campus is during the vacation? not that the entire university campus is deserted, since there are still special semester classes. but my faculty building was … empty.

we all holed up in this, thankfully, air-conditioned practicum room and made out a factory line of stuffing envelopes, sticking address labels and sealing envelopes. it was all very productive. we even managed to take a short lunch break at the new food court. i had vegetable gyoza (cheaper than shops outside) and hot fudge sundae. (:

it was actually more productive than our usual car wash sessions - shorter time, more per capita income, and more money in one single session. truly depressing.

i am feeling confused and short-tempered all day. i have an itchy throat that bothers me. and i don’t know how the rest of my life, much less this vacation break, is going to pan out. i know next week is going to be busy, and i’m strung out on a tight budget. so all i can do is pray and hope that everything will work out in this last week of May, and i actually feel more accomplished than i have in the last few weeks.

i went shopping a little past couple of days too, at the m)phosis and Diva sales (which explains the bit about the tight budget). bought big earrings and necklaces that were marked down by half. yay me.
tube dresses are still very popular, apparently. i like Bloody Mary’s color and prints on willlove; Jennifer (though it oddly also looks like tablecloth/curtain prints) and Tania on momoteapots. candypulp’s newest update features a motorcycle jacket: i like the back view only though. i also sort of fancy the schoolgirl checkered shift dress on matildasmiles’ country-style collection, and summer floral petals on lollyrouge’s summertime collection. and little red heels launched their website. love some of their new pieces, including the stripped neutrals, flutter, solidos.

i had to check out Foley + Corrina after reading this NYT article. and these are super cool keyboard shortcut skins for Macs for Photoshop, Aperture, Final Cut Pro … yes! zomg, desires! :O

this review of the American Idol finale also appeared in today’s local papers. 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die sounds like a easy way for me to get started on reading books other than those in the romance genre. … and there’s always time to embrace the joy of color in summer. (:
