geeky obsessions
i have been trying to avoid using the Internet too much. i can go a day or two without going online, before i feel this obligation to do so, because i know emails accumulate madly over just a couple of days.
so here i am now. i’ve been trying to live my life more whimisically. … or maybe that’s code for ‘irresponsibly’. i sure hope not. i do have plans mapped out - what to do by the end of the week. both for my school commitments (including finish typing exam papers!), and hopefully my driving classes and theory test.
last night i tried to rest early, falling into bed at 9:30pm in a valiant attempt at making up for all the late nights and irregular sleeping patterns over the last month. much to my chagrin, i found myself still awake at 11pm, tossing and turning in an increasingly warm bed with crumpled sheets. i don’t like crumpled sheets.
i finally dozed off, though woken up several minutes later by my mom hovering in my room. and throughout the night, i was plagued by many dreams. when i finally woke up next morning at 8am, i could still remember fragments of at least four seperate dreams. which so completely defeats my original lofty purpose of getting a good rest since i felt all disoriented and not at all rested. perhaps i’m better off sticking to the 12 midnight sleeping hour.
yesterday, i took off a couple of hours to head to town to purchase stuff off my list. i stopped at Topman, because i couldn’t resist the racks of guy tees on sale. in the end, i got a green v-neck for $13. (: yay. pre-GSS sales everywhere. Topshop has this grey pullover which fits me so well, but it was like $39 (original price $79). so i got myself a pair of marked down matte-gold chandelier earrings instead.
i’m still on the lookout for a blazer. i actually saw a gorgeous fitted black blazer at Dorothy Perkins downpriced to $29! omg, such a steal. there was one last piece in my size, but it pinched a little at the shoulders and it was long-sleeved (and hard to roll up). so i left the store, thinking i’d go shop around. i did detour back in the end barely an hour later, but it was gone! gasp! oh well, perhaps it was for the best since it wasn’t exactly the most perfect fit.
i did buy my black bomber from Cotton On however. it’s strange how i set out to buy it in grey, but switched last minute. i also bought a pair of black track pants from Cotton On Body. the fabric is so soft and comfy, i want to wear it out everywhere. except the weather is too terribly warm to wear them. the sun beating down your back every minute saps the life out of you. which is why i’ve shelved my plans to get new jeans. … unfortunately, i can’t seem to break out of the rut of buying cardigans and jackets. i reason to myself that i’m stocking up for next semester of air-conditioned lecture halls and hopefully, a cooler half of the year.
went to the library to drop off and pick up new reads. i love the library in the morning without all the rowdy school kids. Kazzie and i had an early dinner with my grandma since she happened to be in the area (partly why i decided to sleep early). she gave us each $50 before she went home. she’s always giving us extra money to spend, which we always don’t want to take, so we’ll push the money to and fro. but she usually gets her way because she’s, well, our grandma. so what we do, is pass the money to our Dad, who then transfers the money back into her bank account. yay. (:
this morning, i went jogging at 9:30am. o_O! hahaha, i tried running and moving for at least 1 hour. still, i think the time which i went, the atmosphere was already blazing hot, and i felt so drained and dehydrated just after the first half hour. went for brunch just now at Yoshinoya. today’s waffle fries rock because they were so crisp. (:
tonight there’s the final performance of American Idol! and even better, there will be a live simulcast of the results show on Thursday morning at 8am on local television. i’m actually really pleased that they are doing this, because i was thinking how much i’d hate knowing the results online before i watch the finale; spoils the suspense and stuff.
Good Boys and True sounds like an interesting play. read NYT’s story about struggling underwear and lingeries stores. and sneak peeks for the upcoming finale of Grey’s Anatomy!
shades are one reason why i feel tempted to get contact lenses. a while ago, those vintage ones were all the rage. and they’re still everywhere. Nates was checking out some from Miss Selfridge the other day, and F21 has this lovely pair at only $11. super cheap. Straitmooks has also updated with a few for only twenty bucks each
shopping journals come up with the weirdest names for their clothes. it used to be mostly girls’ names, but now they’ve moved on to location/street names, it seems. i like the prints of Atlantic Drive in Sunshine Florals and St. Charles in Spring Blooms though. and Country in Addicthief’s new collection has a really interesting collar. and Modparade seems to have found its groove. its newest collection is pretty cool. i kind of like the Becky and Victoria Abstract Art Dress(es), Corrine Color Block Top (:
should today be spent on geeky things? i have yet to Bluetooth my photos to my Mac, so i guess i don’t get to upload them today. but i am thinking of snagging and loading some new PSP/DS Lite games today. as well as download GA episode 4.15 and load it into my iPod. (:
