mushroom prata and fish curry

i can’t actually recall what i did on Sunday, even though that was just two days past. says plenty about my daily brain activity at the moment. i vaguely recall that we went out for breakfast, and i ate porridge with fried dough fritters, and soya bean milk again! there was this adorable cat that was sleeping on a hawker center seat. i have pictures! but i’m lazy to transplant them from my phone to my Mac right now. i also tidied up my closet as best as i could. removed some old clothes i can no longer wear since i lost weight. (: while re-watching old episodes of Grey’s Anatomy S1!

yesterday morning, went out to City Hall to meet up with my Paparazzi people. lol, it was a bit moo, considering we met up just for Weili to distribute exam papers for us to type up, as part of our canvassing efforts. still, we need the money desperately so all hail the lobang!

Jin suggested going to Jalan Kayu for prata after the meeting, but Moon and Jiamin were going cycling. so only Jin and i could make it this time around. hur hur, but we can all do that again another time!

it wasn’t a long journey there, but we had to change trains quite a bit: from City Hall, to Dhoby Ghaut (to take the NEL line to Sengkang) and then taking the LRT to Thanggam. gosh, how long as it been since i last took the LRT? ages, i swear. and i’ve only taken it once or twice before. xD;

it wasn’t a long trek at all from the deserted LRT station to the prata house. about 300m. i didn’t have time for breakfast in the morning, so prata was my first meal of the day (an excuse to indulge). we didn’t hit the more well-known Thasevi, but the other one that my Dad always brings us to, which has better and quicker service. the prata was so good as always, and i love their fish curry. their iced milo rocks! i tried their mushroom prata, which was good, but my rec is to stick to the more normal prata. omg, they have sotong murtabak! super temptation, but it was like $8. o_O;

post-prata, we went to Little India. and i got to check out relatively cheap costume jewelry, like bangles! we alighted at Farrer Park station and wandered along several streets and lanes before we discovered the shops i’ve been looking for. there might be shops deeper in the area with cheaper prices still though. who knows. (: … i didn’t get anything in the end, but maybe some other time. we walked a lot from there yesterday! we went to Rochor tauhuay to grab drinks (and for Jin to check out one of our Amazing Race stops), then dropped by the National Library, where i found a couple of Erin McCarthy books.

afterward, we ended up heading down to Haji Lane/Arab Street for a little bit. we didn’t do much exploring there since i was pretty winded by then. we went into a couple of little shops, but i wasn’t in much of a mood to look-see/shop. haha! anyway, i’m going back to Haji Lane with Mint on Wednesday as we planned. (: yay-ness, i could get my scarves then possibly, if i find what i like.

i’ve yet to watch Patrick Dempsey on David Letterman because the damned video is not loading.

gladiator sandals, bucket bags, and totes are still hot. and why did nautical blow back into trend? pfft, silly me, they always do. the art of recycling/revival is best witnessed in fashion.

Momoteapots’ new collection has several tube dresses. the only one i do like is Ada’s Spring Dress (sold though). sadly, their purple kimono dress is also sold. expected, since they’re mostly one-piece. still, i have the dark grey one at BonitoChico to covet. i think Mindy’s Dress looks gorgeous in the peektures too. Lolliepopbestie’s recent updates, however, features toga-style dresses and tops! i like Ulyssa in this post, and the Blue Ariel toga, and checked toga tunic dress in this one.

dinner with Mint and Aur later in the evening. finally we get to get together. (:
