by my side you’ll never be
Mint: haha, i heard John Legend before, but i wasn’t particularly taken. i only started liking ‘PDA’ because of the acoustic cover my friend’s sister did on YouTube. you want to give me Sterephonics’ albums? (: i need to go discover good music, but it’s so tedious and i’m a bum.
okay, i’ve been listening to ‘It Means Nothing’ so much, i’m developing a headache. grins. and Zijie needs to pass me all her Stereophonics now that she has my Gilmore Girls seasons one-six! … i wish my university’s connection is as powerful as Mint’s. three minutes for one drama episode? sign me up for UofT next semester!
yesterday was Labour Day! i can’t believe i missed the Borders 30%-off a full priced book yesterday. aggravated, why do i always forget that they have such offers on public holidays? >: … still, thanks to Nates for letting me know. too bad i was already on my way to Clement’s.
there was a gathering at Clement’s last evening. there was like 10 of us: Thu, Jess, Cheryl, Zijie, Su Xin, Trinetta, Stanley, Wai Sze and me! pity Yanyi couldn’t make it. we all got together at his place at Tampines around 4:30pm. debated American Idol with Thu and Jess along the way. and how Paula Abdul’s blunder is so buuu.
we played Taboo! hur hur, it was a riot. after several rounds, we settled on watching Charlie’s Angels the first movie (after much picking and objections over other films) while Clement went to fix up the special dinner he planned. which turns out to be Ikea’s Swedish meatballs and chicken/mushroom baked rice (his Dad’s recipe!). lol, and dipping bread into the mushroom cream gravy used for the meatballs! compliments to the chef, because it all rocked.
we had fun discussing everything from professors to strangely enough, Pokemon, over the dinner table. must be because of the geeks. (:
i ate too much biscuits altogether yesterday! repentant. but who can resist Marks & Spencer goodies like jam sandwiches and tea cakes. and junk like potato chips and chocolate chip cookies always taste even better with company. xD
the second part of the programme as Clement calls it, was going down to the park (where finally, there was some wind, albeit fleeting). … to play with SPARKLERS. mwahaha, i miss. and they had great swings! (: yay. then we all sat around a circle and played a silly short game of completing the story. which obviously turned into a really twisted fairy tale about a stripping prince who rocks at dancing the macarena and a frog in a tube dress and a fairy godmother who wants to writhe underneath the sheets.
dessert was chocolate ice-cream! but i left before that because i wanted to make it home by 10pm, watch American Idol results show (goodbye Brooke) and hop into bed. because i’m going out with JL this afternoon to shop for shoes, and i wanted to make sure i get enough sleep. somehow i’m always suffering from lack of sleep when i go out with her. xD; then we’re going to visit my grandparents (if my grandma is at home!).
ugh, feel so guilty about pigging out yesterday. as Nates kindly reminded me, it was my third baked rice this week! (lol, she should know, i had my first two while i was out with her this week!) maybe i should just not eat today. or eat only Haato yuzu sorbet before i meet up with JL at PS. (:
the rest of the week and next is also going to be super hectic! car wash this Saturday, then Sunday afternoon/night, Cheryl is lobbying for a sleepover in school for the main commies, to finalize plans for seniors’ camp. which is on next Monday-Wednesday (5th-7th). then i’ll take the 7th-8th to recover. and Mint’s coming home on the 9th! (: yay-ness. i might crash over at Aur’s house on the 9th too since traveling home for me from the airport is way too troublesome, while she lives so close to it.
and then we can have a real vegetable sleepover on 19th May since it’s Vesak Day. Simpang murtabak! lol, we’re already discussing film picks for our movie marathon. ROM COMS YES PLEASE. it’s what you should do when we’re all girls. ugh, i’d rather watch Ghibli than Disney. and like i was telling Aur, Aladdin propagates Orientalism! xD; i can’t believe i remember all this stuff from my Visual Communication module.
which reminds me of all the animated films we were discussing yesterday too, while deciding what movie to watch at Clement’s. i can’t believe Clement can recite Mulan in its entirety. anyway, Stanley and i both love The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. (: … and Su Xin was telling us how Monsters, Inc makes people cry. but i never figured out where’s the crying point.
for some reason, i’ve not been getting Lolliepopbestie’s updates. some of their recent posts include some interesting dresses though. and kimono dresses of a slightly different cut. backorders for the Pink Splash Art Tunic open! tempted. (: and they have a new kimono dress design which looks like roses on a fence in this post. what i really like though, is the Striped Dress. hur hur. (:
Dad’s coming home today! <3 it sounds like he bought me another series, woot. i hope it’s Criminal Minds.

By my side, you’ll never be.
‘Cause I’m fake at the seams,
I’m lost in my dreams,
and I want you to know,
that I can’t let you go.And you’re never coming home again.
