Fox factory outlet warehouse sale!

Mint: i actually saw that yellow Gretchen dress being sold at a shop at Marina Square. i don’t know how much, but it might be cheaper/you could try it first. o_O i could get it for you if you want to of course.

it’s been an extremely weary day. i slept after 1am last night, but my biological clock forces me to wake up with a start every morning at 7:30am without fail. i don’t get enough hours, i tire even more. … but it doesn’t seem to knock me out any faster at night. the weather is killin’, yo.

met up with Nates for brunch at the Wan Chai HK cafe at J8. i was a little reluctant initially, because my first and only dining experience at that place when it first opened was very disappointing. i had the HK-style pork chop baked rice today. and it was surprisingly good. it even tasted better than the NYDC one, which was also a miserable failure. and it came with complimentary lotus root soup, so i am pleased. it was about $7.50. not exactly cheap, but i could try it again some day. (:

then we took bus service 53 to the warehouse for the Fox factory outlet sale! the bus ride was pretty fast and definitely way more convenient than taking the train. and only cost $1.20. when we got there, there was already a crowd. not a huge crushing one, but that place isn’t exactly big on floor space. but it was messy. lol, they gave out big red plastic bags for you to stash your finds. you could get the items at the discounted prices if you buy a minimum of 5 pieces, which wasn’t too hard if you’re determined and patient enough.

there was no fitting area, so everyone pretty much pulled on clothes and hogged mirrors. much like those sample sales overseas you read about where women strip down to their undies to try on clothes. initially i was a bit apathetic about digging through heaps and piles of clothing to find something i like and in the correct size. but you get into the mood of these things.

eventually, i had to start cutting down on what i wanted. i weeded out stuff viciously. it was tempting to get a nice top in multiple colors, because they were going at like $7 each. i wish i found more nice guy tees. i had to give up this cream hoodie (way too thick) and grey pullover too. mournful, but the weather (most probably due to the impending summer season) is too crazy to even permit the wearing of those clothes. plus, i’m not going to have classes in another three months, so i sure as hell don’t need those clothes to ward off the cold.

some woman stole my black top when i turned away to pick up my stuff. kjdhkajdlaashgdaljhsakas;! >: but i was too nice to say anything.

what i did buy in the end, was this burnt orange jacket which i always wanted price originally at around $70, and now at $19. score! i’m so glad i resisted all this time until the sale now. and green, brown and rose pink camisoles, and this grey guy t-shirt. everything cost me only $47! (: i love the t-shirt Nates got for her father! it’s white with guitar prints. and her green hoodie jacket which is equally cool like my orange one.

we paid together but fools that we are, we completely forgot the coupons we had which let us have $5 off if you charge $60 nett within a single receipt. omgwtf. :O

i was quite surprised to realize we only spent like an hour and half rooting through the racks. we traveled to town by train to drop off Nates’ work time sheets at her recruitment agency at NAC. we shopped around Wisma Atria again - this time hitting Mango. where i see the bag i’ve wanted still sitting there tempting me. i want to get the red one, but it’s $50 which i refuse to dole out when i could technically drop by the Fox sale again and get more stuff.

at the Takashimaya basement, we debated between doughnuts or Mr Obanyaki fish pancakes (lol or whatever they’re called). yay, i got me chocolate fish. (: … and when we walked by Pepper Lunch, they gave us meal coupons which Nates was about to keep, when i peeked and told her they were actually expiring today, 30th April. jashsls;la;? ¬¬

we went to Zara again too. where i see the cardigan i want, this time in more colors of my size. i want the red one! but the yellow one is pretty too. i saw this pair of black wedges that were so comfy despite being kind of high. but they were like $100, so no can do.

saw Rushan while we were leaving Wisma Atria to walk to FEP, where we deposited our shopping loot at Nates’ parents’ shop. and proceeded to help her look for a pair of new shoes for work! i saw this pair of black canvas flats (so appropriate for summer) but i resisted. yay me. while at FEP, i also bumped into Ming Lee, and i think Yi Ling was with her too. according to Ming Lee, she and the exco will probably be meeting Mint’s flight next week.

today, i had to forsake eating Haato yuzu sorbet because of the arrival of the monthly inconvenience. damn it. had dinner with Nates - fast food which i’ve abstained from for several days now. today i broke the rule because i was too hungry and worn out.

got Clement’s text this afternoon, which reminds me of the gathering he planned tomorrow at his place and we have agreed to show up for. god, i’m really not feeling very up to it though. going anywhere is going to be uncomfortable, and his place is really far away. :3 … possible Paparazzi meeting this Friday too? groans, no time to rest at home.

an interesting article Nates had printed out and i read halfway through today - ‘Out of Print’ by Eric Alterman in The New Yorker. published 31st March this year.

zomg, the MacBook Air is now available in stores! grabby motions.

Zijie attended Stereophonics’ open concert at Fort Canning two days back. and her effervescent raving led me to check out a couple of their songs on YouTube. i particularly like ‘It Means Nothing’. the lead singer has a wonderful gravelly voice and they do great lives. (:

other songs i’ve recently got hooked on include John Legend’s ‘P.D.A (We Just Don’t Care)’. i saw him on the Ellen show before. check out Kewei’s amazing acoustic cover on YouTube. another YouTube singing sensation - Marie Digby. i think her voice is pretty decent and apparently she’s coming to Singapore. especially love her cover of Jordin Sparks feat. Chris Brown’s ‘No Air’.

just took a shower. on Facebook, checking out the recent revival in flash mobs including an exciting-sounding event planned for 17th May - the freeze. i have to finish blogging, upload my photos and check my email. and then American Idol (Neil Diamond week)! (:

edit: David Cook’s second performance was spectacular. (: i thought David Archuleta and Syesha’s first song(s) were pretty good too. Jason and Brooke are bombing real bad these few weeks.
