the valley doesn’t differ from the kitchen sink

okay, i’m addicted to ‘Sentimental Heart’ still. the opening line she sings can’t be erased from my mind.

i haven’t (re)watched Grey’s Anatomy in a long time. been watching old seasons of CSI as mentioned, for the past couple of days while i’ve been taking a break from exam stress. but watching the latest promo for the upcoming revival episode this Thursday, 24th April (also the day of my last paper), i’m feeling the calling to root for MerDer again. i’ve always liked Meredith more than Derek in the relationship though. that jerk got off a bad start with the whole romancing-the-intern without a finalized divorce. like wtfgreatrespect.

went running with my Dad late afternoon yesterday. zomg, i’m all worn down. my body aches now but it’s the good kind. xD

then we had dinner at The Cathay restaurant to celebrate my Mom’s birthday. i have pictures! … some, at least. lol, i was kind of starving by the time they served up the Peking roast duck, so i kind of forgot to take photos of that, or the absolutely delectable tofu+vegetables dish either. it was pricey, but not as expensive as Tung Lok.

we could see Ben & Jerry’s opposite from the restaurant. which reminds us of Free Ben & Jerry’s Cone Day on the 29th! of course it does.

thereafter, we went to Plaza Singapura to get my mom a new cellphone. and to finish up my bookstore vouchers. got my sister the most recent installment of Sophie Kinsella’s Shopaholic series. she has something new in hardback too, but chick lit (if that’s what it’s still called) is really not my thing. i was ecstatic to get my hands on the Judith McNaught novel, Once and Always, which is my favorite of her books (though Double Standards comes a close second). Jason x Victoria! (: <3 and the best part, it was only $11.30. i was astonished, because typical romance novels are an average of $18, and so were her other books. just that particular title was priced differently, so i grabbed it.

after shopping, we made a last-stop for Rochor tauhuay! (:

Cotton On is having a mega-sale. … kind of. plenty of old stock though. i should stop buying their v-neck camisole tops in so many colors. but the magenta and grey are pretty! i bought the purple and green, and a white top (like the one at edc selling at $25) at $5. yay. oh, i kind of like this white lace camisole from F21 too. it’s a steal at $20. i saw it at Wisma today when i popped by after my facial.

my facial was today at Raffles City. i nearly fell asleep through all the massages and i was really sleepy after i got out of there. my skin’s smooth, but no big glow as i’d like it to be. prior to that, i shopped around at Accessorize, and to my surprise, i saw those bangles i wanted back on the racks again. but i ran before i succumbed. Accessorize has lovely summer blue/green dresses with pretty prints, but the prices deter. >: i’m thinking of getting a Topshop shopper for lugging my laptop. good idea?

once again, i haven’t Tumbled in a long long time.

filmmakers get a shot at making in big by submitting “brief productions, typically five minutes or less” to contests a la American Idol. and i’m still looking for basic tees like the one Lou Doillon is wearing in this photo.

She & Him - ‘This Is Not A Test’

for those of you who tried, but didn’t make it,
settle down - it’s never what you think.
the summit doesn’t differ from the big, dark valley,
and the valley doesn’t differ from the kitchen sink.

for those of you who thought you’d be forgotten,
the friends you’ve made will try their best, to make it so.
think of all the beauty that you left behind you.
you can take it if you want it, and then let it go.

and this is not a test, no, this is not a test.
