hell week (one of four)
ATTN MINT: i vote for raspberry or the blues! xD
so what has transpired over the week since i last blogged?
well, last Saturday, my group did filming for our Visual Communication module. it moved along a little faster than i expected, which is great. we filmed at Moon’s place, with Cheryl kindly starring in our short 1 minute film. (: we discovered a major hitch after she left; that we filmed over the shots she appeared in because we rewound the tape all wrong. thank god we managed to schedule a next day filming with her immediately. editing our video on Final Cut Pro was also an issue initially on the Tuesday after, due to the time code breaks on both our tapes. but we managed to work around it because we rock.
anyway then we travelled east to west back to Boon Lay (unbelievable, on a weekend!) to film our other actor, a little girl, who’s something like Thad’s friend’s friend’s sister. xD … we spotted our lecturer, Dr F., at a train station on our way there. then after we wrapped up, we went to Macs at JP and bumped into Dr S. lol, what bloody coincidences. the production stills have yet to be uploaded from my camera onto Facebook, because the photos and video files are too bloody big - almost 200MB in total. i intend to slowly work on processing and resizing the photos first, at least.
it suddenly struck me in the middle of my blogging that i can’t believe i survived this hellish crappy week chock full of deadlines for projects and assignments. but somehow i pulled through. this week was filled with late nights, as i struggled to compile reports and coordinate group efforts. not everything was smooth-sailing. yesterday’s Info Lit group presentation is an example.
… our time got cut, and we didn’t want to present next week, so we rammed our way through our presentation. had to wrap up before we’re done. but it’s not really fair in the end if our grades are jeopardized. even if we did request to present even though we had less time than alloted left. but one of my groupmates couldn’t make it for the altered tutorial time slot next week in any case, so we had to.
today’s classes were at least more stress-free. video editing in the morning. found the perfect song for our film. (: from SUGIZO’s Soundtrack (the film).
next week is not all fun either. i still have the BMW individual and group assignments to put together due next Monday. then a CR test next Wednesday which i badly want to do well in, because it’s CR. but i am barely getting statistics these couple of weeks, and i’m backlogged in my readings for every module. and Friday, i have my Media in China group presentation. which i’m a little freaked out about because the lecture group is pretty large, and i’ve never been big on public speaking.
and Friday is still not the end. Saturday, there’s a student job thing. ‘A’ Level applicants interviews, and the school needs helpers. the pay/hour is higher this time, but the week after next is exams already. who doesn’t need to mug? i have, like, 5 papers between 15-18th, and as i said, i’m backlogged. :3 oh my god, i’m freaked out x 1298143045.
every month, i would feel the urge to go shopping. i bought two new tops from JOOP (one rose-pink pleated, the other cream with red cherry print), but they were on sale so grreat. i actually found tube dresses that i like in Fox. and this gorgeous red cardigan from Esprit marked down to $40. it’s either that or the cerulean/black/purple cardigan from G2000 (since i got the 20% voucher from the exam welfare package). last night, i succumbed to the temptation of online shopping once again. i’ve held out for so long, but this particular shopping journal had really pretty and relatively cheaper kimono dresses than i’ve seen elsewhere. too bad one design out of two i wanted was sold out before i could confirm it. i used iBanking to transfer funds over for the first time, yay, it works. HerVelvetVase launched a new collection along with their new shopping system - i think this dress is pretty. (: … and i still want F21 dresses! but all the sprees are shutting down so fast and shipping is bound to be expensive if i don’t spree.
speaking of vouchers! i still have the Times book store vouchers to use up by the end of this month, i believe. plus some Kinokuniya vouchers from my Mom and Robinsons vouchers from my grandma. (: … i got my Gotham Penthouse limited edition membership card in my snail mail recently. was pleasantly surprised. xD
finally! i can load some of the YouTube videos that haven’t been working for me over the last week too. i was all bummed out, like, omg, is it a Safari bug thing? thank god it’s all working now. i hate slamming into walls.
right now, i’m reading some blogs and talking to Edwin and Aur online. (: yay. . there’re only a couple of blogs i read more often because of their interesting content. (: photos, quirky fashion styles (omg! navy blazer, black leather jacket, gladiator wedges! so cool.). … i feel like reading a book or watching a couple of CSI season three episodes just before i sleep. i’m so tired, i couldn’t stop sleeping on the train.
finally, this is a photo slide show of Takashi Murakami, the brilliant amazing fantastic super-rad Japanese designer’s recent exhibition at Brooklyn Museum, New York. his style reminds me of so many things, including, gasp!, some resemblance to Studio Ghibli animation art. o_O;
