the super sexy MacBook Air
and it looks like the Internet is abuzz with the revelation of the new gorgeous Apple MacBook Air during the Macworld conference. i must admit, i’m suitably impressed, even if it doesn’t read CDs and DVDs. zomglol at the Macworld Keynote drinking game!
the unfortunate death of the Chinese blogger also carries great weight in discussion in the blogosphere lately.
it’s been a couple of days since i really logged online. and i’m pleasantly surprised by the number of somewhat quirky articles i got in the mail. including one about the ‘Chinese’ fortune cookie which looks to really have a Japanese origin rather (but the notion of putting paper in food can also be traced to moon cakes, can’t it?); and a NYT music review of wordless music: which rouses memories of te’s beautiful lyric-less music in their very first album with those endlessly long song titles. except the wordless music in this case appears to refer to classical music bumping paths with contemporary acts in the entire Wordless Music Series. (:
on a sadder note, Rent, which Mint got a chance to catch while she was in New York, is ending its Broadway run; on my birthday this year, no less. there’s a photo slide show of its development, somewhat.
Patrick Dempsey and James Marsden as the new Hugh Grant of romantic comedies? i do agree with the article that there is a perpetual lack of actors willing to step up to the role of romantic lead/hero, or quickly relinquishing it after. xD
shopping journals have been really busy lately. i received several email updates within two days alone. twentykilo brings in more pretty dresses and tops! and the vintagesque bag i was talking about in the last post is similar to the first vintage bag featured in this post. and i would love getting this top in plum/yellow! but beggars can’t be choosers, much less shoppers. :3
about school. i had my first Visual Communication tutorial today. and it was awesome. my first venture into the studios and handling camera equipment (no, seriously). it was a wondrous first attempt, and i can’t remember being more excited about what i was doing since i first started college. even superseding my obsession and intrigue with Linguistics; because it wasn’t so much work, as much as fun semi-klutzy (for me) fumbling with my newly acquired group mates - Moon (yay, again!) and Thad (who should totally have his own talk show), who will hopefully stick around and not drop the module. xD
Info Lit tutorial was not as bad as i expected. and before that, i had great fun battling Clement on the old arcade game, King of Fighters, which he actually had on his laptop. zomg, i love Iori! plus, i kept bumping into Szehui these couple of days. always nice to see a familiar face. (:
Kate Havnevik’s ‘Grace’ brings back “only memories” of the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy season two. beautiful MerDer scene that rivals my love for the one of Derek comforting Meredith in the supply closet with Kendall Payne’s ‘Scratch’ in the background.
Kate Havnevik - ‘Grace’
I’m on my knees
only memories
are left for me to holdDon’t know how
but I’ll get by
Slowly pull myself togetherThere’s no escape
So keep me safe
This feels so unrealNothing comes easily
Fill this empty space
Nothing is like it seems
Turn my grief to graceI feel the cold
Loneliness unfold
Like from another worldCome what may
I won’t fade away
But I know I might changeNothing comes easily
Fill this empty space
Nothing is like it was
Turn my grief to graceNothing comes easily
Where do I begin?
Nothing can bring me peace
I’ve lost everything
I just want to feel your embrace
Bonnie Pink’s lyrics and vocals in the Atami song, ‘Under The Sun’ are absolutely flawless. (… ai wo sagashiteita) tada, tada.
