on old films and my new vintage bag!

i accidentally wiped out one of my email inboxes last night. god, i feel so vexed.

last night i felt like a film before sleep. and so i was flipping through my Dad’s DVD books and zomg, i found myself staring at the DVD of Ghost, 1990 movie. and the funniest thing is, it’s a movie that Mint and i have been looking for forever. Mint started it when she asked me if there’s a chance i have it; and i told her i didn’t. i felt like watching it only after i saw a list of Top 10 Romance Movies to watch printed at the back of a Barbara Delinsky novel. lol, and then i chortled and logged online to leave a faintly apologetic wall on Mint’s Facebook. xDDD

i settled for watching The Bodyguard, the 1992 film starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston, who really has the most amazing voice - the soundtrack rocks. i don’t have a lot to say about the movie, but i liked the characterization of Kevin Costner’s character, Frank Farmer very much. the interracial relationship was only a little surprising for me.

this morning i woke up and watched the first several scenes of Ghost. oh my god, so herein lies the (in)famous pottery-shaping scene between lovers! Patrick Swayze is really hot then. haha, but then i got quickly bored and switched to watching Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve in Somewhere in Time (1980(. … omg, the theme song is totally stuck in my mind now! its musical score composed by John Barry is so brilliant. and it made feel all funny inside, a mixture of hope, sadness and happiness. time travel is always an iffy element, but i think the more blatant loopholes were perfectly covered in this one.

after that, Kazzie and i went to Crystal Jade for brunch - congee and dim sum! i had shopping plans with JL today so i travelled to Bugis. it was a mistake, i’d say. i am in a rather indelicate condition, and it’s a complete understatement to say that i was in a major state of discomfort. we managed to cover the entire Bugis Street at least though. a lot of shops were closed though.

i ended up with some earrings! yay, blue & red wood ones and snowman ear studs as a gift for Kazzie. i love the whole Christmas atmosphere, honestly. haha, i’m such a sap for the season of joy and giving! i also really like this pair of golden dangly ones from Diva.

ahem, and … a Fion leather vintage bag. it has long straps, and a sort of maroon brown color with texture. zomgwtfbbq i know! o_O i had no intentions of actually buying one, even though i’ve been secretly lusting after some that are being sold by online shopping journals. but those have always been insanely expensive like over sixty bucks, so i could safely curb my interest.

i bought two t-shirts! one white with a black Vespa print, and a pale lemon with the typical Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey design. i kind of wish i got them a size up though. i actually wanted roomy t-shirts more.

i also spotted several scarves that i really like. some are too expensive, like those imported from Hong Kong, some i liked but didn’t ask the price. this dark green plaid one, and a skull print one. <3

subject registration opens tomorrow afternoon. i’m pretty much done with my planning. but i guess i could do some final shifting about tomorrow morning, to see if i can improve my schedule further.

it bugs me to bits that sometimes things don’t work out as planned. there’s an upcoming Paparazzi meeting on Wednesday morning in town. love the time and location; it’s great that apparently most of us don’t feel like traveling all the way back to campus for the meeting. i thought i could save myself the arduous trip. then i read a school email about this conversation with this speaker from the States which sounds really interesting, but it’s back in school at 2:30pm on that day. which throws me off, because it’d mean i’ll have to travel back there anyway if that’s the case. x/

note to self about FOC stuff:
1. meet on MSN to work out budget for manicure biz plan;
2. call Wall’s!
(3. read JY’s snack sale biz plan once i get the documents in .doc format.)

Mr Magorium’s Wonderful Emporium
is showing in local theatres mid-December! yay, it looks all colorful and sparkly.

tonight’s couple on I Propose is really good looking. well, i sure hope their relationship/marraige works out. haha, the guy is so adorable, learning sign language to sign ‘will you marry me’, and taking her sky diving! O_o; Heroes and Brothers & Sisters on later tonight!

i want to create an iTunes playlist for songs on a road trip.
