the importance of romance

i desperately miss my hair.
and i’m more than a little panicky about the tough part of growing it out again.

sigh, i knew this would happen.
it’s less hassle, and i don’t have to frustratedly work through the long waves.
but at least i was more in touch with my feminine side. :3
and it’s not as if i’m going after a mod look or whatever.
i get flustered and confused when people ask me what made me go cut my hair.

it’s not impulse, because i’ve thought about it for so long.
and despite what people think, it’s not because of him.
it’s just summer, really.

at least so far most people have been nice about it.
for some odd reason both Dils and Cheryl fixated on my side parting when i showed them my photo today over MSN. xD
(it was great catching up with them; especially since Cheryl’s all the way back in HK now before she migrates to Canada come July.
she was saying how at her uni, guys and girls can share rooms on campus, zomg!)

right now, i’m thinking of doing soft rebonding to tame out the waves to help the growing out bit.
or dyeing my hair and then doing treatment to work out the texture.

i love Mint’s new LiveJournal layout, and Aur’s drawing which it features.
i’m still waiting for my ‘island in the ocean’ picture, haha!

checking out the Abercrombie & Fitch spree Mint’s interested in reminds me of the American Eagle Outfitters spree i really want to participate in.
i want polos and hoodies. x/
and i love the vintage bags here though most are sold out, but these look appealing.
zomg, vintage bags!

i was at Far East Plaza today; and vintage bags are quite available in select shops.
but they’re expensive, and Mint hears about a shop at the army market instead.
saw several tops and a The Box pink cardigan i really like.

and i’m so glad i found the temporary shop location for inQbox!!
initially i was so crestfallen when i thought they folded.
imagine my joy when i discovered they’ve nooked it in this small shop area on the same floor.
i love their clutches. ♥
speaking of which, someone keep me from thinking about the Dorothy Perkins silver clutch? gaaa!

bah, i do so want to make a trip back to Far East Plaza to check out stuff.
i guess i’ll have to wait until next Monday, when i drop by town for weekly Japanese class.
i also want to go looksee at the Salvation Army thrift store at Upper Bukit Timah and House of Japan.
check out this Singapore shopping guide. xD

Japanese class this evening.
omg, katakana is migraine-inducing. >:
despite mugging it at Subway over my tuna sub (lol, i know i told Aur i’d never eat that again, but i had a bad craving), orange and chocolate chip cookie, i ended up being muddled again.
oh well, i’m sure i’ll get the hang of it, just like hiragana.
i really enjoyed the class though.

NYDC cake afterward, at Wheelock Place.
had apple crumble with vanilla ice-cream.
i’m having a little tummy upset now though. o_O;
(yes, i should totally avoid eating after 9pm)
photos, photos with Aur and Mint. strange how we hardly take photos together despite years of friendship.
i see i’m going to have to bully Mint to upload the photos though, since she’s preoccupied with creating a collage out of all her photos.

it’s cold in my room right now.
i have the air-conditioner switched on, which is why i didn’t notice initially that it began storming out there.
(heavy rain, noisy wind, the works)
i did see lightning after my shower, but i usually lose touch once i sit down in front of my Mac.

i needed to dry out my hair before sleep, so i thought i’d watch a movie, but my Love Actually DVD refuses to play on my Mac.
so, it’s down to online-ness and blogging. □_ヾ(・_・ )

i love romance movies, as much as i adore romance novels.
i especially love movies set in winter and Christmas; because it just seems like things can happen.
and the holiday spirit, people get together, and there is a little more room than usual for hope.
some of my favorite movies:

  • The Lake House (one particular scene where Alex and Kate take a walk ‘together’ during summer in Chicago; featuring brilliant architecture of the beautiful city captured my heart)
  • Love Actually (grey Christmas and winter in Britain, what’s not to love?)
  • Under The Tuscan Sun (which is not technically romance, but it’s a gorgeous movie of warmth and companionship set in the backdrop of sunny Tuscany, Italy)
  • You’ve Got Mail (god, i love movies set in fall / summer in New York)

i also do like The Notebook (Southern romance) but i’m not fond of The Family Stone.
i guess the relationships and characters in that movie just didn’t seem so plausible or conceivable to me. bad casting?

and at the moment, it’s 2am.
my skin needs regenerating. i’m missing the cycles.
sleep early and then wake up early is the way to a healthy lifestyle.
